Milestone Capital Partners LLP has today completed the debt refinancing of the senior facilities for Winncare in France
Winncare is a leading provider of homecare medical furniture and equipment for the elderly in France with forecast revenues of €38m and an EBITDA of €4.5m in 2010.
Post–refinancing, the original €12m senior debt facilities contracted between 2004 and 2006 will amount to only €4.5m or circa 1x EBITDA. As part of the refinancing, Winncare has completed a sale and lease-back operation providing funds for both the debt refinancing and the extension of Asklé Santé’s plant in Nimes, France.
Erick Rinner from Milestone commented, “Since 2007, Winncare has changed its strategy completely and has launched several innovative products. Since Winncare reinforced its management team in 2008 and 2009, the business is going from strength to strength as its good financial position demonstrates. Winncare is very well positioned to benefit from the fast growing homecare market and the reform of equipment financing in retirement homes since 2008 in France.”
WinnCare is a platform for a buy and build strategy to create a leading operator in the French and European medical homecare sector, particularly focused on products for the elderly. In February 2004, WinnCare acquired Asklé Santé, the French market leader of bed sore prevention products (mattresses, cushions). In July 2004, WinnCare acquired Médicatlantic, the French market leader of homecare medical furniture and equipment beds, wheelchairs and patient lifting products). In July 2005, WinnCare acquired Virmedic, Asklé’s Spanish distributor and a manufacturer of patient lifting equipment. WinnCare’s strategy is to be a leader in homecare durable equipment for retirement homes and homecare customers in the French market and also in other selected European countries. In FY2010, the company achieved an EBITDA of €3.1m on a turnover of €33.9m.
